Lenovo announce the Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 plus at MWC (see specs).

All road leads to Barcelona at the moment and all gadget news comes from Barcelona as well. It is the Mobile World Congress week, which officially kicked off today although major flagships were announced yesterday, such as; LG G5, and Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. In similar fashion, Lenovo has announced a new set of devices, the Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 plus. Unlike the premium LG G5 and Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices, the Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 plus are mid range devices.

These devices are really cool given that they offer a lot as mid range devices. The Lenovo VIBE K5 and K5 plus sport similar hardware save for differences in display quality and processor power. Vibe K5 comes with a 5.0 inch LCD display with a 1289 x 720 resolution while the Vibe K5 plus’ sports a 5.0 inch IPS LCD display with a 1920 and 1080 resolution. Vibe K5 houses an Octa-core Qualcomm SnapDragon processor 415 while the Vibe K5 plus has an Octa-core Qualcomm SnapDragon 616. The K5 and K5 plus both run on a 2GB of RAM with 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB). They both sport similar camera spec with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera as well as the same battery size of 2750mAh (removable). In addition to the devices shared specs are; Dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-fi 802.11/b.g/n, Wi-fi hotspot and they both run on Android 5.1 lollipop. The devices will come in Gold and Silver colours.

What’s most interesting about these phones is that they have a metal body as well as a friendly price a tag of $129 (under/over N30,000; depends on exchange rate) and $149 (over N30,000; depends on exchange rate as well)  for the K5 and K5 plus respectively. We should be seeing these devices here in Nigeria, once they become available in March.

Whats your take on these devices, are they worth their price tag? For what its worth, I think they do.

Keep your eyes glued on AndroidNigeria for more updates on everything Gadget and tech news coming form the Mobile World Congress.
