The Samsung Galaxy S7 specification differs with its predecessor the Galaxy S6 significantly in terms of expandable storage which was absent in the S6. The expandable storage was returned due to popular request for the feature. However, the Micro SD card cannot be used as adoptable storage, adoptable storage is a feature included in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This feature was designed to help users get around low internal storage limitations, especially with applications. Adoptable storage lets users format a microSD card so that it looks and functions just like an internal storage. This is more secure memory but it does render the memory card effectively useless in other devices.
