Airtel joins other telco’s in data price competition, as they slash data prices, see new prices here
At the beginning of the year, we saw the handwriting on the wall and predicted that there will be a major reduction in the cost data prices. It all started with MTN’s acquisition of Visafone which bolstered their network bands and network quality. Then Ntel came along, although Ntel is just operating in select states including Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, their presence is already being felt. These two events and probably the latest data subscriber statics that saw Glo Nigeria accounting for 80% of new data subscribers in Nigeria, are the reasons why we are seeing major data price reduction across all networks, needless to say that the competition is tougher by the day and data subscribers are happy about it. In fact, joyously happy about it, I for one have been down with a phobia I call dataphobia, for some reason, high data cost and exhaustion rate to be specific, I get scared that my data will get exhausted at an odd time and leave me hanging. To avoid this I browse with a minimized browser tray in order to keep an eye on the download and upload rate show by my modems application, if I observe any irregular movement by the download and upload rate I simply disconnect or pull the modem out, crazy me, right? Well, that is past now
so if you have seen the new data rate for the Airtel network here it is ; The new Airtel Data Plans

Airtel has been a good network in terms of data subscription, however, they have a but.If Airtel or an Airtel employee is reading this post, I will like to appeal to you guys to address your data exhaustion rate and also mark subscribers aware of them. This very important as the word in the street is that Airtel data does not last as expected of a large data bundle being purchased.
Meanwhile, MTN has introduced a slew cheap data packages such as the N500 for 1GB for iPulse prepaid subscribers, they also have a new N1000 for 5GB night plan etc.So check out these telco’s and their data plan and cost, choose a network based on how pocket friendly their data prices are and how good the network is in your area.
Hello i hope this data buddle are true, because it seems too cheap
Yes, very true
What of the speed?
Despite the data slash, Airtel subscription is still costly to me
Airtime users can now enjoy the low subscription
They should reduce the data tariffs
1GB should be 700 naira
I think they will still reduce the prices for now
nice move by the telecommunications industry, nice move truly
They need to keep their customers base
yea and they are doing a good job
This slashes is very huge
very very huge and enticing for sure
