HTC U Play specifications, pricing, and availability
The HTC U Play is one of the two devices HTC has announced for 2017. The device sports high-mid end specifications, coming in with a 5.2-inch full HD Super LCD display that is strengthened with a Corning Gorilla glass. The HTC U Play sports an Aluminium back and a glass front designed to have a symmetrical balance using the “liquid surface” technology. Inside the devices shell, a 3GB/4GB of RAM matched with 32GB/64GB internal memory, and MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor. The device is powered by a non-removable 2,500mAh battery and runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow layered with HTC’s proprietary HTC sense.
For photography and videography, the HTC U Play is equipped with a 16-megapixel OIS sensor (f/2.0 aperture) for the front and back cameras. The rear camera is equipped with a Dual Tone Dual LED flash. The HTC U Play comes with a couple of state of the art innovations by HTC and other recent innovations, they include; HTC’s new AI assistant which is said to be designed to learn how you operate your device and render relevant assistance that will make navigation and use easy, ultimately increasing productivity. The device discards the 3.5mm headphone jacket for USB connectivity (HTC U Play comes with USB Type-C port 2.0). The device also comes with dual microphones that have noise cancellation feature and has the USonic technology, said to be designed to listen to sonic pulses and adjust the audio to match your ears unique architecture.
As for pricing and availability, the device’s 3GB variant will sell for $440. The cost of the 4GB variant has not been revealed by HTC. The launches date of the device is yet to be announced as well; however, the launch date for the device is tipped to be next month before the start of the Mobil World Congress.
