Solution To “Application Not Installed” Error

Apps are the “Beauty of Android”. There are thousands of apps on android platform and so we tend to download a lot since there are many options available to us. If you download apps frequently , I’m sure you must have come across “Application Not Installed” error when trying to install an app. This error occurs once in a while but could be very disturbing if it occurs too frequently.

In this article we will try to look at the cause of this error and possible solutions.

Possible Causes Of “Application Not Installed” Error

I’m sure by now you will be asking yourself “Has my phone been infected with a virus / Malware” ? ; Yes , its quite possible. Virus corrupts storage partition and in corrupt storage partition are the most common causes of Application Not Installed error.

It could also be as a result of;

—-> Corrupt Application (.apk)

—-> Installing on a mounted Memory card

—-> Wrong app installation

—-> Permission Error

—-> Android Os Error

—-> Insufficient Storage Space.

How To Fix “Application Not Installed” Error

Here are solutions you can try ;

—-> Reboot the phone : it could help clear errors on the Android Os.

—-> Perform Hard Reset : in most severe cases hard reset could help fix this error.

—-> Avoid installing unsigned apks : most times downloading .apk apps outside playstore could be very risky. The could be corrupt or Unsigned apps and will definately not install.

—-> Reset apps permissions from settings menu.

—-> Free up SD Card space and make sure your SD Card is functioning properly.

This are the solutions you can try.

NOTE : If you receive error that you can not install from unknown sources all you need to do is reset apps permission. You can do so by navigating to

Settings > Security > Tick “Unknown Sources” .

  1. OK my own problem is that ever since I hard reset my tecno tablet I haven’t been able to install previous applications that were in the phone and its really frustrating

  2. Hello, I got the really solution, u will have to get a app called es file explorer, open then search for the app u wanted to install, after search found!, delete folders named the app name! Then u r free to install the app.
