LG announces launch date of the LG G5.

This is good news for all those awaiting the arrival of LG’s 2016 flagship, LG G5. The company announced via Twitter that the device will be launched on February 21.  This makes it two flagship launching set for 21 February, as Samsung is launching the Galaxy S7 on the said date.

February 21 is the day before the commencement of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The G5 launching event will take place in Barcelona; attendance is only by invitation.

If rumours on the specifications of the LG G5 are anything to go by. The device will be sporting a snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, A 5.6 inch Quad HD display, secondary ticker display, an iris scanner, a fingerprint scanner on the rear, a magic slot for making use of other accessories, a 16 megapixel rear camera.

The authenticity of these rumoured specifications will be known for sure on the 21st of February. When the device will be available for purchase is still unknown, although, it is tipped to be in March, which is also the same period in which the Samsung Galaxy S7 is tipped to be available is stores.
