Xiaomi in collaboration with Black Shark Technology takes the gaming experience to a whole new level with Xiaomi Black Shark.
Xiaomi launched the gaming smartphone at an event in Beijing, China, followed by the release of the company’s first gaming laptop.
The Xiaomi Black Shark sports a 6-inch, 2.5D, 2160 x 1080 resolution display, running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.
It features a dual rear camera setup (12MP + 20MP) with f/1.75 aperture and 6P lenses and a dual-LED flash. They both have a pixel size of 1.25 µm and 1 µm pixels respectively. The cameras come with Phase-detection autofocus, 4K capture, Portrait Mode, and HDR. The front camera is a 20MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 5P lens.
The Xiaomi Black Shark has no microSD card slot but comes in two variants – 6 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage or 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The phone is equipped with an integrated liquid cooling system to prevent overheating for optimal performance. It also has a dedicated “Shark key” at the left side that once pressed, the phone enters into a high-performance gaming mode. It is truly a real gaming a phone.
The phone comes with only one speaker with the call earpiece acting as the secondary earpiece, it is X-shaped for easy grip, no headphone port and the mic is designed to provide simple use of voice calls and chat so as not interfere with the gameplay.
The Xiaomi Black Shark’s fingerprint sensor is located at the front, it runs on Android Oreo 8.1 and powered by a 4,000mAh battery with TurboCharge.
A one-sided Black Shark Gamepad can be attached to the phone. The pad comes with a 340mAh battery which can last for about 30 hours of gaming and can be connected via Bluetooth.
The 6GB RAM/64 GB internal memory variant of Xiaomi Black Shark costs CNY2,999 (N171,720) and the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant costs CNY3,499 (N200,520). The Gamepad is sold separately for CNY179 (N10,108).
The phone comes in two colours, Polar Night Black and Sky Gray.
