Huawei Honor V8 a stunning device with an affordable price tag

The Honor V8 is another device from Huawei’s Honor sub brand. Unlike the devices Honor has outed this year, the Honor V8 is a high end device that retains Honor’s characteristic affordable price tag. The Honor V8 borrows some of the features of Huawei’s High-end P9 max, however, the device is a low high-end device compared to Hauwei’s P9 max.

That said, let us have a look at the specs of the Honor V8, shall we?
The Honor V8 sports a metal unibody that hosts a dual 12MP rear camera similar to what is found on the Huawei P9 plus. V8’s dual camera is equipped with laser focus and dual LED flash, both features will improve picture quality substantially. On the devices front side you will find an 8MP camera for selfies/wefies(taking group picture with a front camera), video calls etc.

Another highlight of the Honor V8 is the devices screen resolution, the Honor V8 64GB variant sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, making it a first from Honor and Huawei. The company before now have always stuck to a full HD display citing the extra battery drain that comes with a Quad HD display as reason for this. Honor V8’s 32GB variant comes with a 5.7-inch full HD display, which is equally looks great when viewing from all angles. The internal memory of both variants can be boosted with an external microSD card as Honor made room for it, however, to get the extra memory boost you have to sacrifice a SIM card for this because the SIM slot of the device is built to function as a SIM slot or MicroSD card slot.

To handle processes, Honor V8 comes packed with 4GB RAM and Huawei’s propietary Kirin chipset, Kirin 950 chip set is set in the 32GB variant of the V8 and a Kirin 955 chipset in the 64GB variant. For graphics, Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processor is placed in the Honor V8.

For connectivity, the device comes with micro dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, WiFi Direct, hotspot, a Type C USB port equipped with 1.0 reversible connector, NFC, and Bluetooth. The device comes with other standard Huawei features including a fingerprint scanner placed on the devices back, and speakers.

Honor V8 runs Android Marshmallow layered with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1, out of the box and is powered by a 3,500mAh non-removeable battery. The device measures 157 x 77.6 x 7.8 mm (6.18 x 3.06 x 0.31 in) and comes in rose gold, silver, champagne gold ,and “platinum gold light” with white bezels in front. All this high-end specs goodness goes for $384 for the 32GB variant of the device and $430 for the 64GB variant of the device. Honor V8 is currently available in China, when it will be available in other parts of the world is still unknown, however, if you what this device you can easily purchase it from an e-commerce store such as Gear best or Alibaba.
