How to view saved WiFi password on your Android phone
You might be wondering why would I want to view saved wifi password on my Android phone when am the one who put it there in the first place? Well, this tip will be very helpful when you forget your password? Or your neighbor has a wifi but can’t connect to it because you don’t know the password, just borrow his Android phone for two minutes and follow the tutorial below to get the password (this is not hacking).
This is a useful method to know because it can come in handy in many other situations when you desperately need the Wi-Fi password of a network you previously connected to on the phone. today i am going to share an easiest method to get WiFi password on from your android mobile.
Requirement
– X-plore file manager (you can use others but X-plore is the best for this job)
– A rooted Android device ( that’s because the Wifi password we need is stored in the system folder of the device and we can’t get the Wi-Fi passwords without gaining superuser access.)
Viewing saved Wi-Fi Passwords on Android
As we will have to open a system file on Android, we cannot use the traditional file manager that comes pre-installed on the device. We will use X-plore file manager for the task. We have already written a review on X-plore file manager. Please have a look at the it if you are unaware of the X-plore review.
To enable superuser access on X-plore
Click on your menu button > configuration > Root Access > Superuser. (see the screenshots below)
Now move to the root folder in X-plore File manager and you will see a directory called data.
Navigate to data/misc/wifi folder and you will find a file named wpa_supplicant.conf. Tap on the file to open it up and make sure you use X-plore‘s built-in text viewer for the task.
In the file you should be able to see the network SSID and their passwords next to it. You can now search for the SSID (network name) and note down the password next to it and close the file.
NOTE : Please make sure that you don’t edit the file or you might start having problems with your Wi-Fi connection.
This is really not hacking
This is a useful method to know because it can come in handy in many other situations when you desperately need the Wi-Fi password of a network you previously connected to on the phone.
You’re a pro.
