Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey says Twitter not changing timeline
Last weekend’s rumour suggesting that Twitter was set to change its timeline to an algorithmic news feed (Facebook-like timeline), has being put to bed as Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has stated that the company will stick to its signature timeline. Jack Dorsey further stated that any intended change to the Twitter timeline will be aimed at making Twitter “feel more live”, not the reverse. He also noted that more changes are coming to make it more “Twitter-y”.
Twitter, from inception has provided real-time news to its users. This feature has made the micro-blogging service different from other social media service. A change to this pattern may not be welcomed by Twitter faithful’s as it would make news/tweets on the site “less live(ly)” this also contrasts the company’s aim, according to Jack Dorsey.
Twitter has being undergoing a lot of transition since CEO Jack Dorsey took over the top managerial position in the social media company. Since Dorsey’s inception, Twitter has announced an increased character limit from 140 to 10,000, which still yet to happen. Twitter has also integrated live video streaming on website. Four top executives of the company have also resigned recently (this can be classified under managerial transition), with two of the top executives joining Google and Instagram.
Change is a constant thing. They will finally change their Timeline
